EcoAlign, DEFG's strategic marketing agency focused on energy and the environment, issued an EcoPinion survey report on consumer perceptions of the "Energy Star" brand for energy efficiency. ENERGYSTAR is one of the few credible energy efficiency brands. There is a lot riding on its continued success and relevance to the nation's energy efficiency goals.
EcoPinion No. 7 confirms that consumers have high awareness and good acceptance of the ENERGYSTAR label. However, the analysis shows that there are steps that need to be taken to maintain the viability and to improve the brand. Americans strongly support the evolution of the brand to apply a tiered approach (e.g., gold label) to indicate higher levels of energy efficiency.
