Brian J. Fratus
Brian Fratus has 19 years of energy sector and infrastructure development, finance and asset management experience with Fortune 500 utility holding companies, independent power organizations and big four management consulting firms both in the U.S. and internationally. He recently founded CDI; an independent consulting firm focused on transaction advisory services, energy consulting, business and project development, and investment activities.
Mr. Fratus is president of Artemis Energy Fund. Artemis focuses on raising capital for early stage (pre-revenue) energy venture companies. The fund focus is alternative, renewable energy and energy technologies ventures. The fund is part of a family of funds of Artemis Investments, with a 15-year track record in early stage venture capital. The energy fund was formed in November 2005, and it is actively seeking portfolio companies. The objective is combine companies angel funding and package them for later round financing with venture capital groups and institutional investors.
Mr. Fratus has led or been directly involved in development and financial structuring investment for $3.8 billion in the energy and infrastructure sector. His career has covered the breadth of: new venture concept origination and structuring, financial analysis and feasibility assessment, market analysis, project development, financial structuring, acquisitions and divestitures, asset valuation, asset management and asset optimization.
The scope of projects have involved coal, gas, wind, hydro, geothermal, power combined with desalination, combined heat and power for industrial facilities and central city district heating.
Mr. Fratus holds bachelors and masters degrees concentrated in Economics and Finance from George Mason University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate.
